2022 is Approaching!

Posted by Ashland Barracudas at Feb 21, 2022 7:29AM PST

Hey Everyone,

We hope the school year is going well but also that you’re turning your attention to summer! We’re looking forward to being back at Carter Park and have our fingers crossed that conditions will allow us to have a fun and productive summer.

We have updated the website to show our practice schedule and meet schedule for the summer. As we stated at the team banquet last summer, we are planning to return to our pre-COVID practice format with three practices after school before the end of the school year and three morning practices after school ends. So there will be no mixed age family practices this summer. The practice schedule is below, and for the meet schedule, click on MEET INFORMATION.

We do have one coaching change to report for our younger swimmers. Ethan Spencer has applied to be a swim camp counselor at the University of Texas this summer. This is a great opportunity for Ethan to continue to gain coaching experience while working at once of the best swimming facilities in the world. We are pleased that Paul Datovech will replace Ethan on our coaching staff. Paul is a lifetime competitor for the Barracudas and currently competes for the University of Mary Washington Eagles. Paul will work with our swimmers aged 14 and younger.

As winter turns to summer, be on the lookout for information about registration in April and increased communication over email as spring arrives. If you’re new to our program or considering joining us for the summer, click on the NEW FAMILY INFO under the TEAM INFORMATION link. You’ll find the answers to lot of questions there. And of course, you can email questions to AshlandBarracuda@comcast.net. (Do be patient with responses as we’re only checking email sporadically during the off season.)

Looking forward to seeing you!

PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Our plan is to operate under these times and groupings. Adjustments may be made if team registration would skew a group to an unmanageable size.

5:15-6:00 Swimmers ages 10-12
6:00-7:00 Swimmers ages 13 and older
